All previous lessons have brought you here. As mentioned in lesson #5, "If this were a game, you have now read the instructions." What this means is that you're now officially on a fair playing field to take action in the real world regarding your finances. Let us begin.

When it comes to money, not only do we continue to develop our self-awareness & abundance mindset, but we must also build our confidence around taking action. Just like any game, you must play to grow skilled.

"Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result but the cause of fear."

- Norman Vincent Peale

Have you ever played Nintendo's Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros?

Most of us have and it didn't take any real skill to jump in and start racing or when it comes to Super Smash Bros, start fighting other payers to try and win. Well same here, we have already jumped into the game of finances, racing & fighting but just being able to jump in doesn't take any real skill.

The real skill is when you start learning combinations, seeing opportunities, and so on. Like your sibling or friend who always beats you up in Super Smash because they know a combination that can send your character off flying into the stars. We know that our character also has a combo but we haven't learned what button combination that is.

In the game of finances, financial literacy is that combo.

It's the combo that is going to get you from randomly making money moves to making real skilled money moves that will make a difference in your life.

But most importantly, financial literacy is what's going to give you the confidence to take action. It's always much easier to make moves when you know what you're doing. The fear of the unknown can stop you from doing anything at all, for weeks, months, or even years.

Write this down somewhere; I'm learning financial literacy to become confident because my confidence will be the power source behind all my money moves.

So what is Financial Literacy?

"Financial Literacy is the possession of the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources."

Did you know that there was no standard curriculum for Personal Finance education until the 2008 financial crisis that happened in the united states? That was less than 15 years ago. Some people are still recovering and are now working on becoming financially literate. Just like pandemics come and go, so do financial crises but with less frequency.

This is why continuous education in financial literacy is so important.

Finances are 20% Knowledge & 80% Behavior. This means that as mentioned before, your self-awareness, mindset, and confidence to take action are key. They fall into the Behavior Category. Financial Literacy falls into the 20% Knowledge Category.

Within the coming emails, we will cover the key topic of Personal Finance. You know, the fundamentals, the stuff they should teach us before sending us off into the workforce hamster wheel but they don't. Yeah, that stuff.

By the time were are finished you'll have a real-world financial plan that will have you ahead of 50% of Americans.

To your success,
